Bb whistle

Listen to Bb whistle sample: (Easy and Slow)

C whistle (wide bore)

C (wide bore) whistle

Listen to C (wide bore) whistle sample: (The Sailor's Wife)
The wide bore C whistle has a very powerful and flute-like sound. It requires more breath than the standard Soprano C whistle. It is a great whistle for outside and large venues. I've recorded the same tune for comparison.

D whistle (wide bore)

D (wide bore) whistle

Listen to D (wide bore) whistle sample 1: (Scotch Mary)
Listen to D (wide bore) whistle sample 2: (The Lambing Storm)
I've recorded the same tunes for comparison with the standard Soprano whistles.
The wide bore D whistle is loud and very powerful, without shrillness, and requires more breath than the standard Soprano D whistle. The top notes of the second octave needs to be well pushed, because of the relative wide bore. This is a great whistle for extra power, for outside and large and noisy venues. It plays about 6dB louder than other loud session whistles like the Soprano D-L, and 9dB louder than the standard D. Earplugs for the player is recommended.
