I offer a full range of quality custom built hand-crafted whistles, in any key from high E to low C.
My whistles have a rich powerful tone, mellow with a touch of complexity.

The whistles are tunable and made of aluminium tubing with a black Delrin fipple plug. The head incorporates a curved windway for clearer tone and clog resistance, and a tenon acting as a tuning slide and for changing whistle bodies. Finger holes are large enough to allow good semi-tones by half covering the hole. I include a thumbhole for a clear flat seventh (C natural on a D whistle) as standard. I can customise tone holes as to your requirements.
Top to bottom: low D, low F, Bb, D
The full range of keys is divided into four groups, according to internal bore diameter of the tubing, the main keys are emphasised :
- Soprano whistles: [E, Eb,] D, C#, C, B, (Bb)
- Mezzo-Soprano whistles: [D, C, B,] Bb, A, G#, (G)
- Alto whistles: [A, G#,] G, F# F, (E)
- Tenor whistles: [F,] E, Eb, D, C#, C
There are some overlaps of some keys, which means for those keys there is a choice of having a whistle with a wider or narrower bore. The wider bore version will play louder with stronger lower notes. The narrower version will play softer with easier second octave high notes. The emphasised keys use an optimal bore size.

Apart from individual whistles I offer whistle sets including one head and several bodies for each group of whistles. Additional bodies can also be added later. See Pricelist for range of prices. A strong black velvet cloth bag for the whistle is available as an accessory.
Full customisation for tone hole placement is available. Please let me know your requirements, and we can discuss the tone hole layout.
Thumb hole
All my whistles have as standard a thumb hole for C natural (using D whistle note names). I strongly believe that a thumb hole is of great advantage, and offers a strong C natural, which cannot be obtained by forked fingering. If you really do not want a Cnat thumb hole, please let me know, and I will make a body without this hole.
Silver lipplate
A silver lipplate can be added on the upper beak, to minimise lip contact to aluminium. A solid silver plate of 10 mm width will be laid flush into the aluminium upper beak. Thereby the upper lip rests on silver, not aluminium. The lower lip rests to a big extent on the Delrin plug. With this silver plate lip contact to aluminium and possible slight aluminium taste is greatly reduced. I recommend this enhancement, and offer it initially as an extra (I may make it as standard at a later point).
